Corey, Michael and Faisal have worked together for many years on a whole range of projects. Our Work

Here are some examples of projects we have designed and built, showcasing our capabilities in optical engineering and prototyping.

Annular fluidics channel where each half was maintained at a different temperature. This allowed the fluid to flow from the cooler zone to the warmer zone and thereby we could perform amplification of the nuclei acids in question.

This prototype was built in a day and was extensively used for studying a whole host of bio-assays.

A mode locked laser can produce a train of pulses whose repetition rate is governed by the length of the cavity. Coupling a small portion of the output signal to an RF spectrum analyzer via a high-speed photodiode reveals various RF frequencies.

In this setup a laser beam was made to pass through a cuvette that contained the organic dye in question. The fluorescent light was coupled to a hybrid PMT to measure the fluorescence lifetime of the dye.

Shown here is the turn-on dynamics of a mode locked laser. The choice of the saturable absorber plays a big role in this phenomena.

This is a fluorescence microscopy setup with a yellow laser excitation.

Getting a uniform illumination pattern is of great importance in applications such has scanning based fluorescence microscopy. Here we show the result of our work where we were able to deliver a square shaped illumination.

This was the result of imaging a number of tiles that were then stitched together using software that was developed by the team.

Using off-the-shelf components from Thorlabs, we were able to build a slide scanner along with the requisite software in under two months.

This unique metrology tool was able to map defects at the wafer level in semiconductor based saturable absorbers.

This test unit was critical in determining the architecture of the cartridge that was used in a multi-analyte bio-assay.

High power pump diodes are a critical component in many optical systems. We have a lot of expertise in the design of custom packaging of such laser diodes.
