Corey is an accomplished opto-mechanical engineer specializing in optical systems optimization and precision engineering. Currently Co-Founder and Partner at Arcsecond Labs LLC, he previously served as Staff Opto-Mechanical Engineer at Resolve Biosciences, developing dual-camera fluorescence microscopes for spatial multi-omics applications. At Quantum-Si, he was the main opto-mechanical engineer on the Optical Devices Team, leading all opto-mechanical component design and manufacturing, scaling the laser system, and building inspection and alignment tools that improved manufacturing yield and system reliability. His earlier work at ASML focused on particle defectivity analysis for semiconductor manufacturing and leading optical alignments for photolithography systems, with research published in SPIE.
Corey holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Fairfield University and excels in product design, manufacturing processes, and precision alignments. He also serves as Lead Design Engineer at Horological Works LLC, where he earned US Patent 11,442,408 for a novel double escapement mechanism. Known for his technical leadership, he consistently delivers innovative solutions in complex engineering environments.
Michael is a highly accomplished optical engineer and physicist specializing in laser technology and microscopy. Currently Co-Founder and Partner at Arcsecond Labs LLC, he spent the past decade at biotech startups including Quantum-Si, where he led the Optical Devices Team in developing next-generation protein sequencing technology, established manufacturing lines in Asia and the US, and improved system reliability tenfold—contributions that helped drive the company’s successful 2021 IPO. His earlier work at Coherent Inc. produced the first commercially available high-power carbon monoxide laser operating at 5 microns.
Michael holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Connecticut and completed postdoctoral research at Yale University in experimental Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics. He holds multiple patents in laser and optical technologies and has published groundbreaking research in Science. Bilingual in English and French, he continues to advance optical engineering through his work at Arcsecond Labs.
